The Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts
10 Durand Road, Maplewood, NJ 07040

As a not-for-profit we are a part of the local community holding classes in this lovely, old building. Built in 1925 as a church, and later donated to Maplewood as a performing arts venue, Burgdorff is around the corner from the main retail street of Maplewood Village and across the street from the NJ Transit station and Memorial Park. Our older students often walk to classes or enjoy ice cream or snacks after class in the village. Our parents can shop in the village or have a cup of coffee at Able Baker down the hill while their young dancers take class. Families from our neighboring towns love the village and enjoy their time here.
Classes during the year take place in the studio- which also serves the village as a shared community room- and in the summer LJD expands to use the studio, the small theater and outdoor patio space for our dance camp. Our spring performances of student choreography are held a few steps away at The Woodland (60 Woodland Rd , Maplewood NJ)
