Drop Off Policy For Young Dancers

Please note that ALL of our classes are drop -off classes, including our Creative Ballet for 3.2 yrs-5 yrs. While we understand that for some young children a process of getting used to a new class is needed, unlike a pre-school we only have 45 minutes for each class. A distressed child needing parental support is too distracting for the other young dancers. Our policy is that a parent is welcome to walk a dancer into the first class and, if necessary, stay for a part of that class. After the first class dancers line up outside or in the lobby. Dancers should be comfortable coming into the class in a happy mood, ready to learn and able to enjoy the class.

We offer a FULL refund if a child is not able to be dropped off without more support starting in the 2nd class.

When your family cancels

We understand that for many reasons a family's schedule or a child's illness may result in missing a class.

Due to our small size, and having only one studio for each class, we cannot offer make-ups for family conflicts or when a dance student is ill. Having students attend other sections in our small school is disruptive to that group. We work hard to create a warm community in each class and want your child to feel a part of this!

When the LJD School has to cancel

LJD cancels a class as rarely as possible. The most common reasons would be the illness of an instructor or extreme weather. We follow the SOMA school district in terms of weather cancellations (most likely snow)

We have allowed space between semesters, or after each semester, for one make-up session per class per semester in the case of an LJD cancellation. If there are multiple cancellations we cannot add make-up days. The make-up date will be sent out in an email.
