SUMMER OUTDOOR CREATIVE BALLET
Preschool and KIndergarten
ages 3- 5 years
These joyful classes for 3.0-5 year olds will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:15-10:15am outdoors on the lawn or patio at Burgdorff the following 3 weeks: Register for 1, 2 or all 3 weeks!
July 10-14 / July 17-21 / July 24-28 Fee : $90 per week for 3 classes ( please see make-up info below)
Our 1-hour Creative Ballet classes will introduce very young dancers to a wide range of music by encouraging their natural impulse to dance! From upbeat jazzy tunes to great ballet composers, our preschool and kindergarten dancers will experience music in a child-oriented and imaginative way. The class includes pre-ballet basics as well as the introduction of ballet sequences which move through space. Classes may include basic story lines of famous ballets. Every class includes a "secret treasure box' with a game or dance theme in it! At intervals classes will include a craft project such as decorating magic wands or crowns. Dancing outside is a beautiful experience and our little dancers thrive in these classes.
PLEASE be sure you are comfortable with the following Covid Era cancellation policies for outdoor classes.
As a creative not-for-profit 501c3 organization we do not have our own studio spaces and are happy to share community space with other arts groups.Therefore if a class must be cancelled due to illness in our staff, rain or impending thunder storms we do not have indoor facilities for these classes as the older dancers are using all available indoor space. For a make -up class children may attend by arrangement either a class the next summer week OR a fall Creative Ballet class. If multiple classes have to be cancelled by LJD we are sorry but we cannot make up more than 2 classes per child as the disruption to ongoing classes would be extensive and this is a risk parents need to be aware of when registering.There are fall classes on Saturdays and Mondays. Attendance for a make-up must be arranged however, as we can't have ongoing classes over crowded. We cannot offer make-ups for missed classes due to a child's illness or family conflicts.
